The Hudson Valley Food Frenzy is a six county food drive that engages businesses and organizations of similar size and/or mission in a friendly coalition to collect food and money for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. Organized by the Pattern for Progress Regional Fellows Program to fight hunger in the Hudson Valley. The annual Hudson Valley Food Frenzy Food Drive is held each year in November.
Between cans and cash donations, this year’s participants raised the equivelint of more than 9000 pounds of food!
Prizes are awarded to the organizations that collect the most donations. All donations are directed to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley to help stock the Food Bank’s warehouse.

The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley serves Orange, Ulster, Dutchess, Rockland, Sullivan, and Putnam counties. The program capitalizes on Pattern for Progress’s commitment to regionalism and the benefits of collaboration to create a regional response to hunger in the Hudson Valley. “Local businesses and organizations really stepped up to the plate these past years to support the Food Frenzy,” said Howard Protter, managing partner of Jacobowitz and Gubits. “The competitive nature of the event and the desire to make a change in the local community helped propel the project beyond our expectations. The need is still very real for many individuals and families in our region and the Pattern Fellows want to continue to help.” “Pattern for Progress encourages nine counties to collaborate as one Hudson Valley region on issues that matter most to our quality of life. In driving this regional competition that will serve the most needy throughout the Hudson Valley, the Pattern Fellows continue to demonstrate their commitment to this focus,” said Jonathan Drapkin, President and CEO of the Hudson Valley public policy not-for-profit.
Participating organizations can collect donations of both food and money. Participants are, Jacobowitz & Gubits (Walden) Finkelstein & Partners (Newburgh), Applied Systems Technology, Judelson, Giordano & Siegel, CPA, PC, and The Ruby Group.
